Baloise Bank SoBa supports international conference on sustainable animal husbandry

Solothurn, 26 June 2019. Baloise Bank SoBa is donating CHF10,000 to the International Conference on Production Diseases in Farm Animals. The ICPD takes place every three years, alternating between Europe and North America. This year, the 17th ICPD will be hosted in Switzerland by scientists from the Vetsuisse faculty of the University of Bern from 27 to 29 June 2019.

"Sustainability is very important to Baloise - that is why we are supporting this conference. Not least to build a bridge between the research community and the general interest of the Swiss population in sustainable milk, meat and egg production that takes animal welfare and animal health into account," says Michael Katzlberger, Head of Sales, Private Banking, at Baloise Bank SoBa. The overall goal of the conference is to contribute to healthy and sustainable animal-derived food production. Lectures by experts from around the world will cover livestock farming, physiology, genetics, nutrition, welfare and herd health management, and explore how these disciplines interact.
