BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) _ Banco Macro SA (BMA) on Monday reported net income of $115.2 million in its first quarter.

The bank, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, said it had earnings of $1.72 per share.

The financial holding company posted revenue of $593.4 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $436.9 million, which topped Street forecasts.

Banco Macro shares have fallen 34% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $23.95, a fall of 57% in the last 12 months.
