Santander again leads Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index

Santander remains on top of the main index measuring gender equality among theworld'slargest corporations for the second consecutive year, the financial information provider Bloomberg said, evidence of the great strides made by the bank in all types of diversity in recent years.

The Bloomberg Gender-Equality index, launched last year, is made up of 230 companies based in 36 countries operating in ten key industries including communications, basic consumer products, energy, finance and tech. It measures the importance of gender equality in eachfirm'sinternal statistics, employee policies, support and commitment on gender matters in the communities in which it operates, and gender-aware products.

Banco Santander has ranked first for the two years in both the global index and the one that evaluates financial institutions only. In the latest index, its score rose to 95.3 points out of 100, up from 93.4 points in 2018.

As part of the bank's commitment to diversity and inclusion, Santander has assumed ambitious commitments for 2025 that include raising the percentage of women in management positions above 30% and eliminating any wage gap identified.
