TORONTO (AP) _ Bank Of Montreal (BMO) on Tuesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter profit of $904.4 million.

The bank, based in Toronto, said it had earnings of $1.35 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.84 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.82 per share.

The bank posted revenue of $7.15 billion in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $4.61 billion, also exceeding Street forecasts.

For the year, the company reported profit of $4.33 billion, or $6.52 per share. Revenue was reported as $19.18 billion.

Bank of Montreal shares have risen 16% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased roughly 2% in the last 12 months.
