WINNERSH - BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) (NYSE: BDX), a leading global medical technology company, is working jointly with CloserStill Media to bring the UK's largest pharmacy event Clinical Pharmacy Congress (CPC) in a virtual form.

A first for the show, the half-day events will take place over three days, from 23 September through to 25 September, finishing on World Pharmacists Day.

CPC is the largest gathering of clinical pharmacy professionals in the UK and is now in its ninth year. The event supports a community of over 9,000 healthcare professionals. Via its network of leading sector experts, delegates benefit from a wealth of knowledge and insights. Providing advanced educational content, CPC supplies healthcare professionals with the latest information to improve the support of patient care.

BD is advancing the world of health through making patient care safer, simpler and smarter. With the current climate, updates on the industry and knowledge sharing is even more vital than ever before.

'Working alongside CloserStill Media, we knew that this event wouldn't be possible unless it went virtual. We were delighted when they asked BD to support CPC Live 2020, ensuring that our healthcare professionals have a trusted and safe platform to receive information and training,' remarked Nick Rodger, Head of Marketing - Medication Management Solutions UKI, BD. 'BD is committed to innovation and continuously improving the healthcare industry; we're able to do that via our solutions and through new methods of working like this.'

'As face-to-face meetings have switched to virtual interactions, we've looked to companies like BD to support the delivery of an unrivalled experience and event programme until we can all safely meet at a 'live event' again. Taking the current time pressures on NHS colleagues, our new platform will enable delegates to also turn-up when they can, to the sessions they want. Attendees will be able to network with peers through round tables and chat rooms; enabling them to share experiences, best practice and learnings through one of the biggest challenges the pharmacy and healthcare profession has faced in years.' commented Laura Shapiro, Group Event Director, CloserStill Media. 'We've worked with BD for many years and their philosophy aligns with our own, which made them a natural choice to support CPC Live.'

CPC Live will consist of a series of live and pre-recorded talks, round tables, panel discussions, product demonstrations, leadership, policy, strategy as well as explore the latest clinical updates which will address some of the key challenges and opportunities that have emerged during and post the COVID-19 crisis.

Throughout the event there will be more than 30 live sessions, where participants can learn and interact in a similar way to usual; this time via the event app. Enabling delegates to post questions, download materials, take part in polls and book meeting slots.

The event is completely free to healthcare professionals and can contribute to part of your learning development programmes with many of the pharmacy education groups and associations including: CPPE, BOPA, CMHP, GPhC, RPS etc.
