Aug. 10--Officials and staff at ShopRite supermarkets, Inc., involving 26 stores in Orange, Sullivan, Ulster, Putnam and Westchester, continue their dedication along the charity pathway to make a difference in the lives of people who welcome a helping hand.

The latest mission was to present a donation to Make-a-Wish Hudson Valley. And they did. A ceremonial check clearly indicated that $131,900 ensured that every child who qualified for Make-A-Wish services would be granted his or her fondest wish. The money that will grant 18 children their wish was raised during an annual fundraising campaign in the spring in which the 26 stores in the corporation participated with employee fundraisings and customer donations at the checkout station.

Make-A-Wish is just one of many nonprofits that ShopRite helps. Since its involvement in 1986, ShopRite's donations have helped 2,700 children in the Hudson Valley. To date Shoprite has raised more than $230,000 for Make-a-Wish. Thanks to the many people who helped, the campaign continues to be very successful.
