Bendigo Bank customers affected by North Queensland's floods are being offered some welcome financial relief. The bank launched its flood assistance package in response to the current natural disaster which has seen homes and businesses inundated.

Gavin Holden, Bendigo Bank's Queensland State Manager, said the package would ease the burden, particularly on its borrowers.

'It's such a stressful time. The priority is to get people back into their homes and their business's doors open. Our home loan and business loan customers can seek relief for up to three months while they get on their feet.' The package also includes discounted interest rates, fee waivers, and other concessions.

Mr Holden said responding to insurance claims is also a high priority.

'People just want a sense of security. We're working hard to make sure all claims are managed as quickly as possible. There are assessors on the ground now helping customers through the process.'

Bendigo Bank's Fairfield Waters Branch didn't escape the floods with water damage causing the branch to close for an estimated two months.

'We're assessing the extent of the damage,' Mr Holden said. 'But the Willows and Hyde Park branches are open, and our business banking, agri-banking, and financial planners are still available, so to that extent it's business as usual.'

All affected customers are being encouraged to find out what they may be entitled to by visiting www.bendigobank.com.au/naturaldisasters or through their nearest branch.

Donations to the North Queensland Flood Appealcan also be made at this website or through any Bendigo Bank branch.
