The Southall community was out in full force in April, sprucing up the banks of the Grand Union canal near Southall Waterside, as part of the Great British Spring Clean.
110 people from more than 16 organisations braved the bad weather to pick up litter and cover graffiti along the canal-side.
Volunteers collected more than 100 bags of recyclable litter, with Ealing Council and the Canals & Rivers Trust on hand to help dispose of unsafe waste. The brilliant efforts of everyone involved now means that locals can enjoy a more pleasant walk along the canal.
The Great British Spring Clean is a month-long initiative by Keep Britain Tidy, which encourages individuals, community groups and businesses to collect litter in their area.
