HOUSEBUILDING giant Berkeley Group is said to have snapped up a central London site for £120m.

Property tycoon Tony Pidgley, who founded Berkeley Group in 1976, has purchased a Camden store from Morrisons, according to reports in the Sunday Times yesterday.

The news comes amid hopes of a rebound in parts of London's housing market, which has been dented by Brexit uncertainty and stamp duty in recent years.

The purchased site currently comes with planning permission for roughly 450 homes and 100,000 square feet of office space.
