Rudolph "Nose" How to Help Kids This Festive Season
  • Canadian Tire, Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and The Santa Claus Parade Partner for the second annual Red Nose Fundraising Campaign
  • All funds raised from campaign will go to getting more kids in the game
  • Campaign aims to sell more than 28,000 Red Noses throughout the GTA

TORONTO, Nov. 1, 2013/CNW/ - Rudolph is making an early appearance this year! Today marks the first day of the 2013 Red Nose Campaign, an annual initiative that raises money to help children from financially disadvantaged families get involved in sports and recreational activities.

Supported by Canadian Tire, Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and The Santa Claus Parade, kids and kids-at-heart can show their support for this important cause by purchasing a 'Rudolph' Red Nose. Noses will be available for purchase for $2each between November 1-17at Canadian Tire locations with proceeds evenly split between Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and The Santa Claus Parade. Starting today, Red Noses can be purchased at any of Canadian Tire's 65 stores in Torontoand surrounding communities and will also be available for purchase from the Air Cadets on parade day.

Embarking on its 109th year, The Santa Claus Parade is hitting the streets of Torontoon Sunday, November 17th. This year marks the 31st year that Canadian Tire has been a sponsor of The Santa Claus Parade, with not one but two Canadian Tire floats appearing on the parade runway this year. Showcasing décor, lights and holiday accessories available at Canadian Tire stores this holiday season, the first float will host the very important, first lady of the North, Mrs. Claus. The second float will put Canadian Tire's partnership with the Canadian Olympic Team front and centre by featuring Olympic athletes - including Elizabeth Manley, Jean-Luc Brassard, and Greg Westlake- as well as Canada'sfuture medal contenders (Jumpstart kids), all in the spirit of the upcoming Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.
