Carnival Cruise Line, a part of Carnival Corp. (CCL), said it received approval from the Miami-Dade County Commission for its proposal to completely renovate and significantly expand a cruise terminal at PortMiami.
The renovation and expansion of Cruise Terminal F will allow the company to support its newest ship, which will be the cruise operator's largest, the company said. The ship, which has not yet been named, will have its home port in Miami. The liquefied natural gas ship is expected to arrive in late 2022, Carnival said.
Cruise Terminal F will be PortMiami's third cruise terminal dedicated to Carnival operations, as well as the port's largest terminal, the company said. The terminal's construction is slated for completion by October 2022.
