Carnival Corp. (CCL) on Monday named Sandra Rowlett as vice president of its newly created Incident Analysis Group.
The travel company said Ms. Rowlett will report directly to Peter Anderson, the newly appointed chief ethics and compliance officer, and will be based at the company's headquarters in Miami.
Carnival said Ms. Rowlett will oversee a team of global investigators focused on analyzing select health, environment, safety and security events within the company's nine cruise line brands.
The company said the Incident Analysis Group is charged with investigating health, environment, safety and security events, making recommendations to enhance policies, procedures and training, recommending robust corrective and preventative action plans, and sharing lessons learned to prevent recurrence. The group will also investigate issues that extend beyond a single event to enhance safety and environmental protection from a broader perspective, and develop training programs that will be provided to brand investigators to standardize and improve the quality of investigations across the company's global cruise brands.
Ms. Rowlett previously worked nearly three decades at the National Transportation Safety Board in various positions.
