For the 18th year in a row, Carrefour is partnering with the Fédération pour la recherche sur le cerveau (FRC) and is supporting the major Neurodon 2019 donation campaign from 18 to 24 March. The campaign will involve €2 coupons being given out in stores for the FRC that customers will be able to scan and then use when they pay for their shopping.

In 2019, the collection campaign will be held in 233 Carrefour hypermarkets and 53 of its Market stores. The Neurodon campaign has been held every year since 2002 in Carrefour stores, and since 2010 in its Market stores. A charity initiative that is essential for the FRC's operation and that TV presenter Marc-Olivier Fogiel has been involved with since 2017.

€1.6 million donated since 2002

The money donated every year is used to fund research programmes into numerous diseases which affect the brain, such as Alzheimer's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, epilepsy, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, strokes, brain tumours, dystonia, Huntington's disease, cerebral palsy, multi system atrophy and psychological illnesses.

In 2018, the FRC allocated €1,680,000 to 23 research projects, including two projects funded with the help of the €127,840 donated via Carrefour stores. Since 2002, the Group has raised €1,600,000 for the FRC and has funded 33 research programmes.

By getting involved once again in the Neurodon fundraising campaign, Carrefour is helping to support research into these disabling diseases, and is once again providing a reminder of just how important it is to eat properly in order to keep one's brain in good health.
