VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Aug. 22, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ceylon Graphite Corp. (“Ceylon Graphite”) (TSX-V: CYL) (OTC: CYLYF) (FSE: CCY) is pleased to announce that it has received assay results of laboratory testing of graphite samples taken downhole in the shaft at its M1 site in the Malsiripura area in Sri Lanka.

This new test result indicates a naturally occurring carbon content (Cg) of 99.2% which is vastly superior to most other natural graphite sources globally. The laboratory testing was done by the Sri Lanka Government’s Geological Survey and Mines Bureau’s laboratory. Tests were conducted from the 1st to the 15th of August 2019.

“We are delighted with this result which confirms that Ceylon Graphite has some of the world’s purest graphite available in its grids,” said Bharat Parashar, Chief Executive Officer. “Our work on the shaft at M1 continues and we expect to start the process to seek an IMLA license soon.”

These tests were conducted in the normal course of exploration work with samples taken from downhole in the shaft - i.e. subsurface materials. Ceylon Graphite is looking forward to additional testing from its excavation efforts, as bedrock extracted Graphite at lower depths from this site is expected to produce even higher purity than the Cg of 99.2%.
