CIR Compagnie Industriali Riunite : Sogefi signs contract to supply innovative components for hydrogen fuel cell powered cars

Milan, November 6th,
2018 - Sogefi, the automotive components company of the CIR Group, has been chosen to supply Hydrogen, Air and Cooling components for a new generation of hydrogen fuel cell powered cars. Sogefi's innovative components include: · Hydrogen intake manifold · Hydrogen exhaust · Air intake manifold · Air exhaust · Cooling intake manifold · Cooling outlet · Hydrogen, air and cooling ducts The total value of the components supplied by Sogefi Air & Cooling will reach € 250 per car, compared with € 70 per car for a combustion engine powered car. Laurent Hebenstreit, Chief Executive Officer of Sogefi, said: 'This new contract is the first step for Sogefi in the Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered vehicles. The combination of innovative materials, design and processes was key to our success in this fast growing market'.The Hydrogen Council sees the potential for hydrogen to power about 10 to 15 million cars and 500,000 trucks by 2030, thereby contributing to CO2 emissions reduction. Sogefi Air & Cooling will start production of the Hydrogen, Air and Cooling components at its Montreal plant in Canada in 2021.
