Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) (ticker symbol: CCE) today announced the hiring of Clare Wardle as General Counsel and Company Secretary, effective July 15, 2016. Ms. Wardle currently serves as Group General Counsel and Company Secretary for Kingfisher, the European home improvement company. Prior to her current role, she held similar positions at Tube Lines Limited, the group responsible for the £28 billion infrastructure investments in the London Underground, and as Head of Legal Services for Post Office Ltd in the UK.

In her new role, Ms. Wardle will be based in Uxbridge and serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team for CCEP, reporting to John F. Brock, chief executive officer. She will work extensively with and for the CCEP board of directors as Company Secretary, and will serve as legal advisor to Sol Daurella, CCEP’s Chairman.

“Clare’s strong track record as General Counsel for a FTSE100 company in the European retail industry, coupled with her extensive knowledge of UK governance, makes her ideally suited to lead the Legal Function of Coca-Cola European Partners,” said Mr. Brock. “For many years, Clare has demonstrated a keen proficiency in risk management, governance, competition and compliance, and we look forward to welcoming her to the Coca-Cola system.”

Ms. Wardle holds a Master of Jurisprudence from Somerville College in Oxford, and a diploma in Competition Law from King’s College in London. Additionally, she serves as non-executive director of Leefitzgerald Architects Ltd and Modern Pentathlon GB Limited, and as chairman of Basketball England. Additionally, Ms. Wardle has served as a director of several Kingfisher companies, including Kingfisher Insurance Limited, Kingfisher Holdings Limited, and Kingfisher France.
