Colruyt : Brand-new Colruyt and DreamLand store open together under same roof at Mouscron

Spacious Collect&Go pick-up point on same location. On Wednesday 17 July, a new Colruyt and DreamLand store open on the same site along Menenstraat 136 in Mouscron. Colruyt Mouscron moves to a new location. For DreamLand, Colruyt Group's family and seasonal store, it is the first branch in Mouscron. And there is a Collect&Go pick-up point, which means the Group offers its customers 3 different store formats in 1 place.

3 store formats in 1 place

Colruyt, DreamLand and Collect&Go sharing one building means more shopping comfort for the customers. They find different stores on 1 site with a large car park for 234 cars. The 3 different store chains can complete and reinforce each other. Furthermore, it is an interesting region: because the border with France is nearby, we have possibilities to reach many new customers.

Larger Colruyt store: shop more efficiently

With 2,200 m², the new Colruyt store is one fifth larger than the former one. Store manager David Verlinde: 'This means we can expand our assortment and make the aisles wider so our customers can shop even more efficiently. We also added an extra checkout. And they can find fresh meat in a self-service butcher's shop. Customers can see the butchers at work in an open workshop and talk to them if they have questions or a special order.'

The new Colruyt store is equipped with electronic price labels. 'They offer quite a few advantages', says the store manager. 'With this new system, we can react to price changes at our competitors much faster. They are also energy efficient and environment-friendlier than paper labels: every year, we save a lot of transport and 75 million labels or 90 tonnes of paper.

Playful DreamLand store

The brand-new DreamLand store in Mouscron is 1,600 m² big and is the third DreamLand store decorated with playful elements. Sales department head Danny Jenquin: 'We have a floor sticker in the shape of an athletics track where kids can have a race. And for the smaller ones, we have funny shopping trolleys.'

In the family and seasonal store, children can find a broad range of toys, garden articles, books, party products, gaming, school supplies and bikes, but also gifts for the whole family and a seasonal supply (Halloween, Christmas, carnival).

Collect&Goshops for the customers

The site also includes a new Collect&Go pick-up point, which is a lot larger than the former one. This means they can prepare more reservations. 'Collect&Go is a handy Colruyt Group service where we shop for the customers', says store manager David Verlinde. 'They send their shopping list to collectandgo.be or via the app, and the Collect&Go employees have their products ready at the pick-up point on the day and time of their choice.'

Low-energy store: 4 % less CO₂

Colruyt and DreamLand Mouscron are low-energy stores with the best insulation in front and roof. The building is also hermetically finished. The stores are equipped with sustainable technology such as a refrigeration system with propene, heat recovery from the ventilation and the refrigeration system. David Verlinde: 'This project is part of a more comprehensive renovation plan: by 2029, all Colruyt Group stores should be low-energy stores. The group's CO₂ emissions have to go down by 4 %.'

Special open evening on 16 July

From Wednesday 17 July, the 58 co-workers of the new Colruyt store and the 9 co-workers of DreamLand Mouscron will be happy to welcome their customers.

'The evening before, between 5 and 8 pm, they can already discover the new stores during a special open evening', says store manager David Verlinde. 'We will gladly offer our customers a snack and a drink.'

DreamLand plans many festivities between 17 and 20 July. Kids can have fun in the bouncy castle, have their face painted or make funny balloon figures. The programme also includes a DJ demonstration of Hercules and meetings with Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Playmobil and le Loup.
