Beat Malacarne to be interim CFO of Comet Group

Beat Malacarne is to assume the role of CFO on an interim basis as of June 1, 2019. He will succeed Markus Portmann, who is leaving Comet Group as already announced.

Beat Malacarne has extensive international management experience in finance, serving for many years as CFO at companies such as the former Kaba Group in Rümlang, SBB Cargo AG in Zurich and at subsidiaries of Holcim Group ACC Ltd in Mumbai and Siam City Cement Public Company Ltd in Bangkok. In his last role before joining Comet Group Beat Malacarne was Chief Integration Officer at dormakaba, where he was responsible for the integration of the merged companies Dorma and Kaba.

Beat Malacarne is 57 years of age. He is a Swiss citizen and a certified public accountant. As interim CFO of Comet Group he will assume all tasks associated with this role until a permanent successor to Markus Portmann is found. He will also be a member of the Executive Committee of Comet Group.

The Board of Directors and management would like to thank the former CFO Markus Portmann for his enormous dedication and his valuable contribution to increasing the value of the company over the last 14 years, and wish him all the best for the future.
