SAN DIEGO, Calif. - November 5, 2019 - Radicle Growth, an acceleration fund, and Corteva Agriscience, a leading pure-play agricultural company, today announced the launch of The Radicle Challenge by Corteva, to be hosted at the World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit. Together, Radicle and Corteva will identify a promising agtech startup that is solving agricultural challenges with novel technology solutions and support its success. Entrepreneurs with technologies across the agricultural landscape who are solving problems with breakthrough technology solutions are invited to apply to take part in the Challenge between now and December 6, 2019. The winner will receive a $250K investment from Radicle Growth, have access to Radicle's company-building platform, and have the opportunity to engage with Corteva technology leaders to help shape, validate and refine the selected growth opportunity using virtual or actual on-the-farm assessments.

'Having worked in and led start-ups prior to assuming responsibility for leading the R&D team at Corteva, I know how tough it can be for entrepreneurs to bring innovations to market,' said Neal Gutterson, Chief Technology Officer, Corteva.'After serving as a judge for one of Radicle's recent challenges and working with its team for three years now, I am convinced that they know how to help entrepreneurs convert great ideas into workable, differentiated and scalable solutions. I am proud that Corteva is partnering with Radicle on this Challenge to provide farmers with important new tools, and I look forward to seeing the entries it generates from around the world.'

This is the third year in a row that Challenge finalists (to be announced in mid-February) will be invited to a Pitch Day competition onsite at the World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit, which will take placein San Francisco from March 17-18, 2020. The Challenge winner will be invited to present on stage as part of the Summit's acclaimed start-up technology showcase, and all finalists will attend both days of the summit. Last year's winner at the World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit, Aromyx Corp., was awarded $250k to accelerate the development of a sensory platform to digitally measure taste and smell to create actionable insights and enhance production processes across industries, from agriculture to pharmaceuticals to food and beverage to consumer packaged goods.

'We know the level of investment that entrepreneurs at various stages in their trajectory need to be successful and we couple that investment with a custom company-building program to provide the coaching and connections to allow their technologies to take off,' said Kirk Haney, Managing Partner of Radicle Growth. 'This is why the Radicle Challenge concept has had such a tremendous impact. We are humbled that agtech powerhouses, such as Corteva, continue to partner with us to help make these Challenges a success.'
