On a per-share basis, the Toronto-based company said it had net income of 28 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 29 cents per share.

The media company posted revenue of $353.8 million in the period.

The company's shares closed at $4.28. A year ago, they were trading at $3.98.
