Greenwich Millennium Village (GMV) has sponsored a local 'Summer Fayre' for residents, children, families and friends on its premises. The event, held on Saturday July 14th, was hosted by the GMV residents' association and attracted visitors from across the development and wider locality.

The Summer Fayre opened to the public at 1pm, with activities running through to 9pm. Among the different activities held on the day were jumping castles, football matches and face painting. A range of performances also provided plenty of fun for attendees, with karate demonstrations, a primary school rock band and local Bollywood dancers entertaining the crowds. Culinary options were plentiful with residents selling home cooked delicacies including curries, ice-cream and delicious cupcakes.

A major highlight of the day was the 'giant deck chair', which was a hit with both adults and children who posed on it for the cameras. Visitors were also given the chance to participate in a social media competition and win a cocktail voucher by uploading photos with the chair onto their Instagram account.

A photobooth pod was also available on the day for visitors to take a range of snaps in various wigs, hats and colourful glasses.

Chris Bladon, Director of Greenwich Millennium Village comments: 'We were delighted to support and sponsor the Summer Fayre, which has given our residents the chance to enjoy a fun filled day with their families and neighbours. Community living is one of Greenwich Millennium Village's unique offerings and it is events like these that help bring everyone closer together. We look forward to organising more events in the coming months.'

Sylvia Williams, Social Secretary for the Residents' Association at Greenwich Millennium Village comments: 'The Summer Fayre was a fantastic event very much enjoyed by the residents, friends and families in attendance. It was lovely to see the GMV community come together to celebrate the summer in our piece of serenity within the city. The Residents' Association looks forward to continuing this annual event with the support of Greenwich Millennium Village.'

There is currently range of homes available at Greenwich Millennium Village, which spans 72 acres. Its rich mix of house types and architectural styles has led to a diverse community of first-time buyers and families, both from the local area and further afield.
