Crawford is honored to be a recipient of Business Insurance's 2019 Innovation Award for our Escape of Water solution. This award is given to companies who have shown incredible ingenuity in creating and modernizing products and services designed to aid risk management professionals. As one of this year's winners, we were recognized at the Innovation Awards Luncheon in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 23, 2019. Additionally, we were featured on businessinsurance.com and in their Insurtech September print issue.

What is the Escape of Water Solution?

Water damage is one of the most common and costly types of loss in the U.S., costing businesses and consumers more than $2.5 billion dollars a year. Outside of the initial monetary loss that occurs due to water damage, businesses must also concern themselves with safety and health concerns that could arise as a result of the damage leading to additional costs. Resolving these issues can reduce the productivity of a business, especially if the damage is not addressed immediately and sufficiently. Crawford created the Escape of Water solution to save businesses money, time and to quickly address any safety or health-related issues.

How does it work?

Wireless IoT-enabled sensors are carefully placed throughout the property to detect water loss as soon as it begins. Upon detection, a contractor from Crawford's managed repair network is dispatched to the property to mitigate leaks and assess the property damage. A Crawford adjuster is assigned to the claim to ensure estimate accuracy, fair pricing, proper servicing, and quality repairs. Our emergency mitigation response team works around the clock to ensure our clients receive the best possible service and prevent any further loss.
