First time buyer Samantha Peacock purchased her first home at Crest Nicholson's Dylon Worksdevelopment in Lower Sydenhamusing the London Help to Buy scheme. The 28-year old lawyer bought the three-bedroom apartment for £599,995 and is enjoying settling into her new home that she shares with her two cats, Smudge and Muffin.

Samantha originally believed the dream of owning her first home in London was a long way off, however Crest Nicholson paid her Stamp Duty, saving her £20,000. This coupled with an annual bonus from her company enabled her to put down the deposit earlier this year. The three-bedroom apartment ensures she has plenty of space, one of the bedrooms acts as a home office, while the third acts as a spare bedroom for visiting family and friends.

'The homes at Dylon Works were much bigger than any other properties I looked around in the same price range', Samantha recalls, 'and the value for money on offer at this development is fantastic.' Samantha had not initially set out to purchase a three-bedroom home, but realised she was able to afford this spacious apartment thanks to the London Help to Buy scheme, which enabled her to secure her home with just a 5% deposit. Her apartment also comes with a large terrace, which was a huge selling point for Samantha, and provides some sought-after secluded outside space.

Prior to moving to Dylon Works, Samantha had rented in Denmark Hill for several years, but since moving to Lower Sydenham she now enjoys a much easier commute into her Liverpool Street-based offices. Samantha notes, 'getting into work is now so easy, I just hop on the train to Cannon Street, which takes 20 minutes from Lower Sydenham station, and then it's a five-minute walk from there.'

The area appealed to Samantha as there is an abundance of open space on her doorstep, with the likes of Beckenham Junction and Crystal Palace Park within easy reach of Lower Sydenham. 'Before moving here I didn't know much about the area itself, but I absolutely love the access to green spaces that are all easily accessible from my new home', says Samantha.

The last remaining two and three-bedroom apartments are still available to buy at Dylon Works, with prices starting from £449,995 for a two-bedroom apartment.
