Croatia Airlines today performed its first flight from the new passenger terminal at Franjo Tuđman International Airport in Zagreb. This historical flight, which marks the official opening of the new passenger building, was performed on the aircraft Airbus 319 at 5:50 a.m. on the regular domestic route from Zagreb to Dubrovnik.

First international passengers flew Croatia Airlines from the new terminal on the regular OU456 flight from Zagreb to Brussels at 6:15 a.m.

On an annual level, the Croatian national carrier performs the largest number of flights to and from the Zagreb International Airport. During this season, it will connect Zagreb to five Croatian and 24 international destinations.

It is worth mentioning that, starting in early May this year, Croatia Airline will have direct flights from Zagreb to four new destinations - Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo and Bucharest. The company will continue operating flights from Zagreb to Lisbon, Prague, Milan and Saint Petersburg, which were introduced last year. With a total of eight new destinations in the last 365 days, Croatia Airlines has offered to the market additional 100,000 seats, which is why in 2017 we expect a further growth in passenger traffic and a record 2,000,000 passengers.

In order to increase its network, this season Croatia Airlines has hired two 100-seat CRJ aircraft as an addition to its fleet consisting of six Airbus aircraft (four A319s and two A320s), and six Dash 8 Q400 aircraft.

In the course of this year, Croatia Airlines' aircraft will have regular direct flights to 39 destinations in 24 European countries.
