Para-athletes" ~

"Development of Robot Suit HAL designed to induce improvement of physical functions for Para-athletes" (the "Project") of CYBERDYNE, INC. (the "Company") was adopted for Fukushima Prefecture's public offering, "Fukushima Medical and Welfare Device Development Subsidy for appealing to the world at 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic games" and today, the Company determined to submit an official grant application.

• I. Purposes of the project

  In order to induce recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, Fukushima Prefecture solicited proposals for development of medical and welfare devices that could be promoted globally in the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. This project was initiated also to support the product development and verification of medical devices of companies etc.

• II. Proposed project that was adopted

  • 1. Name of the proposed project

    "Development of Robot Suit HAL to induce improvement of physical functions for Para-athletes"

  • 2. Details of the proposed project

    Objectives of the projects are as follows

    • a. Development of HAL that could induce improvement in the function of the body trunk as well as the lower limb.

    • b. Establishment of cutting-edge training program that combines support of movement with HAL and vital sensing technology.

    • c. Verifying the effectiveness of "a." and "b."

  • 3. Period of the subsidy project

    From the date when the subsidy is determined to be granted to March 31, 2019

  • 4. Applied amount of subsidy 12 million Japanese yenIII.

Amount of subsidy and payment period

Amount of subsidy granted for the relevant project will be finalized after inspection. Therefore amount of subsidy as well as the payment period is undetermined at this point.

IV. Schedule

The subsidized amount is planned for posting in the consolidated statement of profit or loss for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019 as other income
