To all of our valued customers and stakeholders

People across the world are suffering from the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). I send my warmest wishes to all who are enduring these difficult times and I express my deepest condolences to those who have unfortunately passed away. We are grateful to and respect all of those in various parts of the world who are confronting this unprecedented crisis by making great efforts to prevent the spread of this virus and maintaining vital social systems.

We have long supported people's lives, safety and health through our life insurance business in Japan and in countries we operate. Standing "By your side, for life" as a life time partner is our mission that we have always embraced. Now, in the face of this unprecedented global crisis, more than ever, it is time for us to fulfil our mission as a life insurance group and do whatever it takes to offer a peace of mind to all of those in need.

Currently, thanks to the strong leadership teams at our group companies and the efforts of our employees in Asia-Pacific and North America, we are able to continue our business operations. Our highest priority is the safety and health of customers, business partners, and employeesaround the world. Wewill continue to carry outappropriate operations considering situations in each region and take necessary measures.

In terms of our financial performance for the fiscal year ended March 2020, although the global economy was greatly affected by the spread of the Coronavirus and other factors, we have been taking appropriate risk control measures to secure financial soundness and we believe the impact is limited. However, we can never be optimistic about future economic trends. We will continue to closely monitor these trends and ensure that we maintain our business on firm ground.

Nobody can be sure of what waits for us in the future. Many people are living with anxiety and fear in inconvenient terms or in some cases restricted conditions. But there is great hope in that many people around the world are united to overcome this challenge we face. We pledge to join the effort and take an active part to deliver a secure future for every community we serve to overcome this crisis.
