BROOKINGS, S.D. - Feb. 6, 2019 - University of the Pacific (UOP) has selected Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, to design, manufacture and install a new LED video display at Chris Kjeldsen Pool in Stockton, California. The installation took place in December 2018 and is now informing and entertaining Tigers aquatics fans.

'We are truly excited to add this state-of-the-art video display to the Chris Kjeldsen Pool Complex,' said Janet Lucas, director of athletics for University of the Pacific. 'Upgrading to the quality, functionality and size of this new digital video board will significantly enhance the excitement and experience for our student-athletes and fans. We are very fortunate to have the support of the Bank of Stockton and the Eberhardt family, who shared the vision for this project, and the partnership with Daktronics literally turned this opportunity into reality.'

The new video board measures 12 feet high by 30 feet wide and features 10-millimeter line spacing to bring live video, instant replays, race results, statistics, graphics and sponsorship messages to fans attending aquatics events. It is capable of variable content zoning allowing it to show one large image or multiple zones of different content.

'Our major challenge for this project was that the video display was oriented to face the California sun,' said Eric Cain, Daktronics sales representative. 'Thankfully, UOP knew they had to invest in a display that could get bright enough to compete with that sun. This is why we are thrilled they chose high quality and installed our newest 10-millimeter SMD technology that achieves 9,000 nits of brightness. UOP fans, student-athletes and staff will be blown away with the image quality of this display for years to come, and we can't wait to support them.'

Daktronics LED video technology features industry-leading environmental protection to ensure consistent performance in harsh climates and settings, such as the humid atmosphere of aquatic venues.
