RIGA, May 15 (LETA) - The money laundering scandal involving Danske Bank shows just how important the exchange of information is between countries, Estonian President Juri Ratas told members of the press today in Riga after a meeting with Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins.
Ratas said that money laundering within Estonia cannot be allowed.
''If we are speaking about the Danske Bank matter, this just showed how important the mutual exchange of information between countries is. On Friday I will meet with the deputy head of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. I will once again emphasize to him that Estonia is no way tolerates money laundering,'' the Estonian prime minister went on to say.
