The MowerPlus Hour Meter Connector can be used to communicate hour meter information to the MowerPlus app

CARY, N.C. (August 20, 2019) - John Deere is continuing to help homeowners make the most of their lawn care with two new Smart Connectors that communicate via Bluetooth® technology with the MowerPlus™ smartphone app. The Smart Connectors, depending on mower model and connector, can communicate fuel level, battery state, and hour meter information to the MowerPlus app for enhanced machine management.

The MowerPlus Smart Connectoris available for the X300 Series and the X500 Series models. With this connector, engine hours can be monitored on these models via the free iOS and Android MowerPlus app. The app will also track mower maintenance schedules and remember fuel levels, so operators can check their phone while planning ahead for Saturday morning's mow.

Additionally, the MowerPlus Hour Meter Connector, available for the 100 Series and S240 lawn tractors, can be used to communicate hour meter information to the app. This connector is exclusively compatible with the iOS version of MowerPlus.

Both connectors are available through John Deere dealers, or the JohnDeereStore.com, and are easy to install by simply attaching it to the wiring harness of the mower.

The MowerPlus app helps users determine the best time to mow with local weather information, communicates expert pre-mow tips, offers maintenance reminders, and provides walk-through guides.

Other MowerPlus app features include:

  • A 'Mow Now' button to track mowing metrics, including aerial view of mowing path, length of mow, and speed via smartphone GPS
  • A log of past mows that can be shared via social media
  • Ability to view local weather for the next five days to assist with planning mow times
  • Tracking of maintenance intervals, and additional maintenance tips that are specific to the model of the user's equipment

To download the MowerPlus app, visit the iTunes App Store or Google Play.
