John Deere's PD400 gaining interest in on-highway applications. Come see what's new!

Fargo, North Dakota (May 2, 2019) - John Deere Electronic Solutions (JDES) will continue to tout its modular solution that is the PD400 inverter at Europe's Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology expo in Stuttgart, Germany. JDES inverter technology has already proven maturity by accompanying John Deere's hybrid powertrain solutions in the 644K and 944K loaders which recently surpassed 1 million operating hours. This significant milestone was a highlight at the John Deere Power Systems stand during bauma this year. Focusing on off-highway solutions, the new electric drivetrain components can be optimized for a wide variety of hybrid and electric vehicle applications.

Building on that experience, JDES's focus at EVTech will be towards the on-highway truck and bus market that searches for a compact, modular inverter design. In high-voltage/hi-power hybrid electric vehicles the PD400 can eliminate the need for multiple interfaces for coolant circuits and high voltage DC connections. It may also partner with a wide variety of motor technologies and designs.

Offering 157 kW @ 350 VDC and 315 kW @ 700 VDC continuous ratings, the PD400 packs a punch - giving you the performance you need, when you need it. The Dual version can enable the control of either an e-axle that would consist of two motors, or a central drive high power motor with the ability to supply 50% additional power when paralleled. As a result, this allows the system designer to focus their energy on optimizing integration and vehicle performance where it matters most.
