During a celebratory event in Atlanta, Delta's Technical Operations team presented Marine Toys for Tots with 1,012 bikes - assembled and donated by TechOps employees - along with a check for $50,000. In addition to the bike donations, TechOps employees donated more than 15,000 toys to provide a brighter holiday for kids in the local Atlanta area this holiday season and raised more than $51,000 to purchase the bikes.

Over 50 TechOps shops and hundreds of employees helped build the record number of bikes this year, which were proudly displayed in the shape of a snowman during the Dec. 7 event.

'I'm so proud of our employees and their dedication to the Toys for Tots. With their hard work they were able to collect $51,000 to donate and assemble 1,012 bikes and collect over 15,000 toys for sponsored families,' said Mike Moore, S.V.P. - Maintenance Operations. 'We've been partnering with the Marines for over 14 years on this initiative, and we love the partnership because we want to serve our local communities. It's a great marriage between the Armed Forces and Delta to help the community.'

Delta contributed $50,000 to Toys for Tots for Atlanta kids as a part of its overall annual corporate contribution.

'It's really all about the kids. Delta is one of our biggest contributors in the Atlanta area and we want to give a special thank you to Delta employees, and especially those TechOps employees who build the bikes,' said Sergeant Angel Morrison, Marine Personnel Chief, who was on hand to accept the donations at the event.

Delta is proud to be the Airline Partner of Toys for Tots and a National Corporate Sponsor of the Marine Toys for Tots Literacy Program. The Literacy Program's mission is to offer economically disadvantaged children the ability to compete academically and to succeed in life by providing them with books to enhance their ability to read and communicate effectively. Delta contributes over $700,000 annually to Toys for Tots, and Toys for Tots toy drives are held in several locations system-wide.
