Eurex Exchange, the derivatives exchange of Deutsche Boerse AG (DB1.XE), Monday said it has reached an index-licensing agreement with Vienna Stock Exchange for listing new derivatives on the Austrian exchange, which will enable market participants to trade new index futures and options on Eurex.
-The agreement will allow Eurex Exchange to list new futures and options based on the ATX and ATX five equity indexes on the Vienna Stock Exchange, which means it can complement its current offering and include further key markets in central and eastern Europe.
-Eurex plans to launch the first index derivatives within the not so distant future.
-In the first nine months, more than 6.8 million contracts in Austrian derivatives were traded on Eurex.
