President of the National Council for Monitoring of the Anti-Corruption Strategy Implementation Zeljko Jovanovic requested from the chief prosecutor Drazen Jelenic to state an opinion on alleged irregularities in HT's business, in particular in terms of the purchase of EUR 125m worth bonds in December 2016. This is a reaction to a hypothesis that HT did not buy Deutsche Telekom's bonds, but bonds of the issuer of Deutsche Telekom, International Finance BV, registered in Maastrict, Netherlands. Small shareholders claim this is a matter of insolvent bonds with negative yield and a matter of favouritism of Deutsche Telekom at the expense of the state and small shareholders. HT comments: HT most seriously condemns and rejects speculations on any sort of favouritism of the majority shareholder or infliction of damage on the company or shareholders. By buying the bonds, HT took care of its money and the money of its shareholders, and the mentioned investment was carried out with a goal to manage the funds in a more efficient way. HT's business is transparent and we fully abide by all legal regulations and regularly fulfil our obligations toward all stakeholders, and all the data on the business of the company are publicly available.
