We are delighted to bring on board an experienced IoT industry player. Rami Avidan, most recently CEO of Tele2 IoT, will take over as Senior Vice President of the important growth area of Internet of Things (IoT) at Deutsche Telekom's enterprise customer unit, effective April 1, 2019.

'I am very pleased that Rami Avidan has decided to join T-Systems. He has the proven attributes needed to build, drive and lead a business, from a financial, technical, as well as sales and marketing perspective', says Adel Al-Saleh, Deutsche Telekom Board Member and T-Systems CEO. 'Our customers don't just talk about connected things as a concept - they're starting to implement it. Our services ensure that they can take full advantage of digitization in their day-to-day business. With his extensive experience in the field of Internet of Things, and with security solutions in particular, Rami Avidan can take our IoT business to the next level.'

Rami Avidan served as CEO of Tele2 IoT until September 2018. Over the last six years, he built up the Internet of Things division for the Swedish telecommunications company. During his time in charge, Tele2 IoT became one of the leading IoT Mobile Network Operators (MNO) in the world - as recognized by leading analysts. With a team of around 200 IoT experts, he created outstanding technical solutions and achieved entrepreneurial success in the young IoT industry after only a short time. Before joining Tele2 in 2013, Rami Avidan held various leadership positions at telecommunications and IT security companies, such as Wyless Group Ltd and Cryptzone Group AB.

'The Internet of Things is one of the biggest digitization drivers worldwide and has reached almost all industries. The challenges are complex. Only concrete experiences and real-world technologies create value. The Telekom Group brings everything for the Internet of Things : We advise, build the networks, manage the devices and ensure security', explains Rami Avidan regarding his decision to join T-Systems.

Ingo Hofacker, who started the new IoT business division at T-Systems two years ago, is leaving the company at his own request. Adel Al-Saleh comments: 'I want to thank Ingo for his commitment, clear vision, dedication and leadership during the early stages of our IoT business. The strategy Ingo and the team developed has laid the foundation for our future growth in IoT. I wish him the best of luck in his future career.'
