MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ Donaldson Co. (DCI) on Thursday reported fiscal second-quarter profit of $64.4 million.

The Minneapolis-based company said it had profit of 50 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 47 cents per share.

The maker of filtration systems posted revenue of $662 million in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $692 million.

Donaldson expects full-year earnings to be $2.05 to $2.19 per share.

Donaldson shares have dropped 16% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 6% in the last 12 months.
