The Eversource Walk for Boston Children's Hospital (BCH) is personal this year for Connecticut employee Susan Stotts, an arborist out of the company's New London and Danielson offices. At 7 years old, Susan's granddaughter Zoe was diagnosed with Eosinopilic Esophagitis, a chronic immune system disease resulting in damage to the esophageal tissue.

Zoe and her family struggled with treatment until they went to BCH. At the hospital Zoe met with Dr. Eitan Rubenstein, who the family immediately loved and trusted. The environment and personal care at BCH made Zoe look forward to her appointments, and put her family at ease.

Zoe is now a happy 9-year-old. She has learned to live with her disorder and continues to go to BCH for treatments.

"Zoe might not be alive today if it weren't for Boston Children's hospital," said Susan. "I was so impressed with the hospital. The entire team is so wonderful - they made Zoe feel like she was the most important person in the world. I'm walking for Zoe and giving back to the hospital because they made such a big difference in our lives."

Susan and Zoe will lace up their sneakers and join thousands of others on June 11that the DCR Hatch Shell in Boston to walk for children who have benefited from the exceptional care at BCH. Join us by registering today!
