CHICAGO (AP) _ Envestnet Inc. (ENV) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $3.6 million.

On a per-share basis, the Chicago-based company said it had net income of 7 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 69 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 68 cents per share.

The financial services firm posted revenue of $239.9 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $239.7 million.

For the year, the company reported a loss of $16.8 million, or 33 cents per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $900.1 million.

For the current quarter ending in April, Envestnet expects its per-share earnings to be 45 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $241.7 million to $243.7 million for the fiscal first quarter.

Envestnet expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.22 to $2.27 per share, with revenue ranging from $1.02 billion to $1.03 billion.

Envestnet shares have climbed 24% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $86.42, an increase of 53% in the last 12 months.
