* To comply with IFRS 5, the sold activities (Multiplexes, Music Publishing and French-language TV series) have been restated within FY 2017/2018 as well as within FY 2016/2017 for a better comparison.

International sales stand at €76.7 million for the fiscal year, or approximately 34% of total turnover, comprised mainly of deliveries of the film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, as well as significant overages collected on films from the catalogue (notably Lucy and Taken 3).

Theatrical distribution revenue in France and the United States increased highly compared to the previous year thanks to the film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. It stands at €39.6 million, or almost 18% of total revenue, versus 13.7 million in FY 2016/2017.

This revenue corresponds to the sales made in theaters, in the US and/or in France, from the main following feature films:

Theatrical Distribution France

  • - Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, released in July 2017 : 4.1 million admissions;

  • - Room(h)ates ("Sous le même toit"), released in April 2017 : 674 thousand admissions;

  • - Bad Buzz, released in June 2017 : 51 thousand admissions;

  • - Coexister, released in October 2017 : 673 thousand admissions;

  • - Carbone, released in November 2017 : 730 thousand admissions;

  • - Sparring, released in January 2018 : 34 thousand admissions;

  • - Eva, released in March 2018 : 161 thousand admissions;

    Theatrical Distribution United States

  • - Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, released in July 2017 : $41.2 million at the domestic box office (US and Canada);

  • - The Circle, released in April 2017 : $20.5 million at the domestic box office (US and Canada);

  • - Their Finest, released in April 2017 : $3.6 million at the domestic box office (US and Canada);

The Video & VOD segment in France and the United States represented around 15% of the annual revenue, coming in at €33.7 million, versus €17.4 million for FY 2016/2017. This turnover was mainly driven by the US video sales (physical and VOD), in particular those of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. This revenue also includes sales of films from the catalogue such as the US sales of Miss Sloane and Nine Lives.

Television & SVOD sales in France and the United States rose to €40.5 million over FY 2017/2018, an increase of more than 35% compared with the previous fiscal year. This growth is fueled by the development of TV sales in the US, and particularly of SVOD sales (notably Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets and The Circle).

In France, the revenue for the period is linked to the opening of broadcasting rights windows for films from the catalogue, in particular Taken 3, Room(h)ates ("Sous le même toit"), Bis, and Transporter Refueled.

Directly related to the Group's production and distribution activities, Subsidies increased to €4.4 million over the fiscal year, compared with €3.9 million the previous year.

Revenue for the TV Series activity (excluding sales from the sold business assets related to the French television activity) amounted to €22.7 million for FY 2017/2018, an increase of more than 18% compared with FY 2016/2017. This growth is mainly due to the delivery of 10 episodes from the second season (out of 16 episodes) of the international series Taken. The revenue also includes sales linked to the delivery of the last 2 episodes from the first season of that same series.

The Other item corresponds mainly to post-production, licenses, partnerships, events and coproduction receipts. It recorded revenue of €6.2 million (excluding sold activities), down 10.5% compared with the previous fiscal year.
