As news of the coronavirus COVID‐19 continues to develop, Everest Re Group, Ltd. and its affiliates remain focused on the health and safety of our employees, their families and the greater Everest community, and this includes our ability to continue servicing our external customers, clients, and business partners.

In accordance with our Organizational Resiliency Program, a team reporting directly to our executive management has been meeting daily to monitor the ongoing and rapidly evolving developments regarding the virus to ensure that we take swift and appropriate action as necessary. Our priority remains the well‐being of our staff and the ongoing ability to provide exceptional service to our customers and broker partners. All of our decisions, processes and plans center on these two imperatives.

Everest's established Organizational Resiliency Program is a fundamental component of our overall risk management strategy. It is an integrated framework designed to assess, mitigate, and respond to certain key operational risks to reduce the impact of unplanned business disruptions and protect critical processes, applications and services. The framework includes Crisis Management; rigorous Business Continuity Plans to ensure uninterrupted operation of all critical business functions and processes including Claims processing and payments; Disaster Recovery across all technology platforms; and Emergency Management. Organizational resiliency training, testing and program maintenance are conducted on an ongoing and continual basis. In light of recent events, this testing has become more frequent and even more comprehensive as we work to ensure we are prepared to respond to all eventualities.

New measures that we have taken in response to the COVID‐19 pandemic include moving all of our staff to a teleworking environment. This builds upon previous employee travel restrictions and self‐ quarantine work from home requirements for those who have recently returned from certain high risk areas, or have been in direct contact with others who have. All restrictions on business travel, meetings, conferences, etc. remain in place. In addition, we continue to strongly recommend that our employees curtail all personal travel, particularly if it involves flying.

Additionally, we have worked with building management at all of our office locations to ensure that applicable government guidelines are being followed and appropriate cleaning and preventative disinfection procedures and visitor screening protocols are in place. Even with employees working remotely we are ensuring that our office buildings remain in compliance with all protocols. Our corporate intranet has been updated with a COVID‐19 page and we've launched our EverReady crisis response page on www.everestre.com to keep all employees, external customers, clients, and business partners abreast of guidelines, procedures, recommendation and other important information. Lastly, as we've transitioned to a work from home environment we've validated that we have more than adequate technological capabilities for our staff to work remotely.
