More than 450 line, tree and service crews working around-the-clock

MANCHESTER, N.H. (November 28, 2018) - More than 450 line, tree and service crews continue around-the-clock efforts to restore power to Eversource customers impacted by the storm that began Monday night and continued into Tuesday. The energy company has restored more than 95,000 customers since 10:00 p.m. Monday, and restoration is expected to be substantially completed by Wednesday night.

"We know that extended power outages are challenging for our customers and we appreciate their patience throughout this extensive restoration effort," said Eversource NH Vice President of Electric Operations Joe Purington. "We made significant progress overnight and our crews will continue to work tirelessly until all of our customers have power."

Eversource expects most of its customers will have power by tonight, but the company's around-the-clock work to address single-customer outages in the most heavily impacted communities may continue into Thursday. More than 60 percent of the outages occurred in western communities and more than 35 percent in the northern region of the state. The most extensive damage remains in the Newport, Tilton and Lancaster areas. The Town of Grantham was particularly hard hit with significant tree damage, including five separate trouble spots on a main transmission line that delivers power to most Grantham customers. Additional crews were sent to Grantham again today, and Eversource continues to focus resources on the hardest hit areas of the state.

As restoration efforts continue, Eversource reminds customers to always stay away from downed lines and report them immediately by calling 9-1-1. Eversource customers should report power outages online at Eversource.com, or by calling 800-662-7764. Additional tips on preparing for and staying safe during a storm are available online at ReadyNH.gov. Customers who use a home medical device should be sure to have a plan in place that will enable continued use during a power outage.
