Tango FLNG fully commissioned and accepted by YPF

EXMAR is pleased to confirm that it has completed the commissioning of the Tango FLNG. The performance acceptance tests has been successful, the first cargo has been offloaded and will be exported out of Argentina.

With this first shipment the start-up of the Tango FLNG is accomplished in a record time following the contract signing in November 2018 and delivery acceptance of the unit in Bahia Blanca in February 2019. The achievement of this milestone has been possible thanks to the excellent cooperation between the teams of YPF and EXMAR.

For YPF, the delivery of the first LNG cargo of about 25,000 m³ from the Vaca Muerta shale gas reserves marks the entry of Argentina to the select club of global LNG exporting nations.

"For EXMAR, the successful performance test in Bahia Blanca confirms the technical capabilities of the Tango FLNG. Tango FLNG is the first FLNG operating in the Americas and this historic milestone clearly proves EXMAR's front runner position for cost competitive and quick-to-market floating liquefaction solutions", commented Nicolas Saverys, EXMAR's Chief Executive Officer. The unit is generating earnings since early May and is expected to be fully on stream after the Argentine winter season.

Tango FLNG opgeleverd en aanvaard door YPF

EXMAR heeft het genoegen te melden dat de Tango FLNG met succes is opgestart. De acceptatietesten zijn met goed gevolg afgerond en de eerste lading LNG is geleverd voor export vanuit Argentinië.

Met de eerste verscheping is de opstart van de Tango FLNG in een recordtempo voltooid na de ondertekening van de overeenkomst met YPF in november 2018 en de levering van de liquefactie-eenheid in Bahia Blanca in februari 2019. Deze belangrijke mijlpaal kon enkel worden gerealiseerd dankzij de voortreffelijke samenwerking tussen de teams van YPF en EXMAR.

Voor YPF betekent de levering van de eerste lading LNG van 25.000 m³ van de Vaca Muerta schaliegasvelden dat Argentinië de selecte club van LNG-uitvoerende landen vervoegt.

"Voor EXMAR bevestigt deze test in Bahia Blanca de technische capaciteiten van de Tango FLNG, de eerste drijvende liquefactie-eenheid werkzaam op het Amerikaanse continent. EXMAR bewijst met dit historisch feit koploper te zijn in het aanbieden van competitieve en snelle infrastructuuroplossingen in de LNG-waardeketen", zei Nicolas Saverys, EXMAR's CEO. De eenheid genereert inkomsten sinds begin mei en wordt verwacht op volle toeren te werken na het Argentijnse winterseizoen.
