Comment on FCA's June Sales in Europe
  • Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) reported June sales in Europe of nearly 90,250 vehicles. For the six months year-to-date, sales totaled more than 540,500 vehicles and market share was 6.4%
  • Jeep sales were up 1.5% in June and 2.0% for the year-to-date. Several models posted sales increases, including the Renegade (+32.1% in June and +9.9% year-to-date), Wrangler (+7.3% and +57.0%, respectively) and Grand Cherokee (+13.8% in June)
  • The Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda continued to post strong results. The 500 ranked first in the A segment in both June and for the year-to-date, while the Panda posted a 14.8% sales increase for the year-to-date. The two models held a combined 30.5% segment share for the year-to-date. Outside Italy, the Fiat 500 posted its best-ever January-June performance with segment share reaching 16.5%
  • Lancia brand sales were up 7.6% year-over-year to 4,350 vehicles. For the year-to-date, sales were up 27.4% to nearly 34,800 vehicles
  • In Germany, FCA increased sales 1.7% for the year-to-date and, in Poland, Group sales were up 40.4% for the month and 11.7% for the year-to-date

FCA posted June sales in Europe of nearly 90,250 vehicles with market share at 6.1%. Year-to-date, Group sales totaled more than 540,500 vehicles with market share at 6.4%.
In Germany, FCA increased sales 1.7% for the year-to-date and, in Poland, Group sales were up 40.4% for the month and 11.7% for the year-to-date.
The Fiat 500, Fiat Panda, Lancia Ypsilon and Jeep Renegade all posted strong performances in June. The 500 was leader in the European A segment for both June and the year-to-date. The Panda was runner-up in the A segment with sales up 14.8% for the year-to-date. Sales of the Ypsilon were up 8.8% in June and 27.6% for the year-to-date, while the Renegade posted increases of 32.1% and 9.9%, respectively.

Results by Brand
Jeep posted a 1.5% year-over-year increase in June with nearly 16,400 vehicles sold. Share was up 0.1 percentage point to 1.1%.
Year-to-date, sales were up 2.0% to more than 92,100 vehicles and share was 0.1 percentage point higher at 1.1%.
In addition to a 9.0% sales increase in Italy in June, the brand also posted positive results in France (+1.6% in June), Spain (+3.0% in June and +37.5% year-to-date) and Germany (+0.1% year-to-date).
Several models posted sales increases, including the Renegade (+32.1% in June and +9.9% year-to-date), Wrangler (+7.3% and +57.0%, respectively) and Grand Cherokee (+13.8% in June).

Alfa Romeo posted June sales of nearly 5,300 vehicles, with market share up 0.1 percentage point over May to 0.4%. Year-to-date, sales totaled more than 29,300 vehicles with share at 0.3%.
Sales were particularly positive in Spain, where brand sales were up 11.6% year-to-date.
The Stelvio was leader in its segment in Italy in both June and for the year-to-date, while the Giulia continued as one of the best-sellers in its segment.

Fiat brand sales totaled nearly 63,700 vehicles in June with market share at 4.3%. Year-to-date, brand sales totaled nearly 380,600 vehicles with share at 4.5%.
The Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda dominated the A segment. The 500 was segment leader for June and the year-to-date (with sales of nearly 19,000 and 108,600 vehicles, respectively). The Panda was second in the segment for both periods with sales up 11.1% in June and 14.8% for the year-to-date. The Qubo also posted a positive performance with sales up 21.4% year-over-year in June.
For markets outside Italy, the 500 posted an 18.0% segment share in June and a 16.5% share for the year-to-date. This represented the best first-half result since the vehicle's launch. The Fiat Panda posted a 5.2% segment share for the year-to-date, representing its best performance in 5 years. The Fiat 500X posted a 12.0% sales increase outside Italy for the year-to-date with share 0.1 percentage point higher at 3.6%.
In Italy, the Fiat 500L and Fiat 124 Spider led their respective segment in June and for the year-to-date, while the Tipo was segment leader for the second quarter and the year-to-date.
Outside Italy, the brand posted significant increases in Germany in June (+4.2%) and for the year-to-date (+6.3%). These results were primarily driven by the Fiat 500X (+111.0% in June with market share up 1.0 percentage point) and the Tipo (+52.0% in June with market share up 0.4 percentage points).

Lancia continued its strong performance in June with sales up 7.6% to 4,350 vehicles. Market share was 0.1 percentage point higher year-over-year at 0.3%. Year-to-date, brand sales were up a 27.4% to nearly 34,800 vehicles and share was 0.1 percentage point higher at 0.4%.
The Ypsilon was B-segment leader in Italy for June and the year-to-date with significant year-over-year increases in both sales volumes and share.
