Presence at NAB Show 2014 7th Apr, 2014

Forbidden Technologies plc (AIM: FBT), the AIM-quoted owner and developer of the market leading cloud video platform, FORscene, is pleased to announce key elements of its NAB Show 2014 presence. The event, the world's largest electronic media show, is taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada USA, 5-10 April 2014.

Programme Highlights

The global audience for Forbidden's cloud video platform is too large for the Company to address directly. Therefore, an important part of its commercial strategy is to work with major suppliers to the industry to integrate FORscene with their products and services so that their customers can benefit from the platform. At NAB Show 2014, Forbidden will feature alongside several such companies.

  • Presenting at Microsoft® stand
Microsoft now has one of the world's foremost cloud platforms, so we are pleased to be able to announce that Greg Hirst, Business Development Director at Forbidden, has been invited to describe how FORscene integrates into Microsoft Azure™, the American corporation's flagship cloud platform, for sports post-production globally.
  • Demonstrating at Sony stand
Sony is a leading manufacturer of equipment used by the professional video industry. Forbidden has worked with Sony to allow production crews to connect Sony cameras directly to the FORscene cloud over WiFi and 4G. Forbidden will be demonstrating a broadcast workflow with Sony on the Japanese corporation's stand, and a web distribution workflow on its own stand.
  • Broadcast Beat
Broadcast Beat, an official NAB Show 2014 Media Partner, is using FORscene to create content for the event in the cloud. Footage shot in Las Vegas will be edited in Broadcast Beat's production facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In addition, Broadcast Beat is using FORscene for its own content.
  • Cloud computing panel discussion
Greg Hirst will participate in the Broadcaster Education Association panel "Cloud Computing in Media Production". As part of the panel, Greg will present a piece focusing on how new IT enables more and more of the broadcast post-production workflow to move into cloud-based solutions like FORscene.
  • deltatre presentation
Jim Irving, deltatre Group Marketing Director, will highlight the benefits of integrating FORscene into its successful digital solutions for the Sports market.
FORscene

A number of new features and improvement to the market leading cloud video platform, FORscene, will be previewed at NAB Show 2014. Some are designed to improve the platform for professional editors while others simplify the administration side as Forbidden scales up the number of users.

In order to take advantage of the popularity of the iPad amongst creative media professionals, Forbidden is launching an iPad version of FORscene to be previewed at the event. Editors will now be able to work on their content on the move without the need for PCs or Macs, at the same time simplifying Executive review. FORscene on iPad brings full mobile cloud access to the professional media world.

Awards

FORscene has won a Broadcast Beat Editor's Choice Award and is shortlisted for a StudioDaily Prime Award.

Stephen Streater, CEO, commented:"NAB is the biggest industry event in the world so it's the place to launch both our new US subsidiary and major new FORscene features. In terms of our activity at the event, we are involved with some of the most recognisable names in the industry - an endorsement which reflects our position, both technologically and commercially, in an industry increasingly integrating two dominant media trends in which we lead the way: cloud and mobile."
