Ford Motor Co. said Thursday that sales in China for the second quarter rose 3% from a year earlier to 158,589 units.

Compared with the first quarter, sales for the most recent quarter jumped 80%, the company said on its China website.

Sales growth during the period was largely driven by SUV vehicles as well as the luxury Lincoln brand, the U.S. car maker said.
