2019 will see the second edition of the Amavita Award in French-speaking Switzerland. This distinction aims to reward innovative projects in the field of health and to encourage preventive measures that maintain health. Two prizes worth CHF 2,500 each will be awarded.

Jury Prize and People's Choice Prize
The applications received will be evaluated by a jury of health professionals,
patient associations and representatives of the specialist press. The jury will be chaired
by Dr Bertrand Kiefer, Director of the Planète Santé live fair. The jury will award the Jury Prize and select finalists to participate in the People's Choice Prize. The projects will be presented on the www.amavita.ch/Award website (only in french) as well as at the Planète Santé fair in Martigny in mid-November 2019. The winner of the People's Choice Prize will be decided through an online vote, which will be open from 1 September.

Entry requirements
The competition is open to all persons and/or organisations (except Galenicare employees). Applications can be submitted until 31 July 2019 at www.amavita.ch/Award. Projects must be submitted in French. Details of the entry requirements can be found online.

2018 winners
Sandrine Schwab, mother of five children, received the 2018 Jury Prize for her book on fighting cancer. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer, she created the character 'Razetacouette'. Through 100 cartoons, she succeeded in improving her children's understanding of cancer and facilitating dialogue around her disease.

More than 1,000 people voted online and awarded the 2018 People's Choice Prize to the Makee association's project. The association devotes its resources to promoting physical activity during and after cancer.
