Sustainability is an integral part of Galenica's corporate management. In its Sustainability Report, which is published annually, the Galenica Group informs its stakeholders about its sustainability projects and activities.
Patient protection and patient safety take top priority
Based on the relevance matrix developed in 2017, the Galenica Sustainability Committee defined the Group's ambitions on core topics and drew up an internal roadmap. The roadmap contains responsibilities, objectives and concrete actions that are central to achieving the ambitions set. For example, patient protection and patient safety take top priority at Galenica. The Galenica Group is therefore investing, among other things, in promoting the skills of employees in pharmacies, is actively involved in protection against falsified medicines, provides greater drug safety with innovative products such as the Documedis® solution and much more.
The Galenica Group is also continuously developing its other core sustainability topics, such as the introduction of the Data Protection Circle in 2018 in the area of data protection and the switch from printed catalogues to tablets at Verfora to save paper.
Outlook for 2019
It is a matter of importance to the Galenica Group that its staff are increasingly informed and made aware of sustainability topics. In 2018, the Sustainability Committee therefore devised objectives for internal communications on sustainability. The actions will be drawn up and implemented in 2019. Galenica also plans to review how sustainability is embedded in risk management in 2019, so as to ensure that sustainability topics, especially climate-related opportunities and risks, are systematically included in risk assessment.
