DIGITAL RESTYLING FOR GNN LOCAL NEWSPAPERS OF THE GEDI GROUP

A community-friendly website: more space devoted to initiatives for readers, more special content and long-form reports, more analysis of national news. All with a new graphic layout suitable for smart phones that is both functional and light. The digital restyling of the GNN local newspapers of the GEDI group has begun. The first one to start was Il Mattino di Padova, and with weekly releases for the whole of November and December the restyling will be extended to all the other newspapers with La Tribuna di Treviso, La Gazzetta di Reggio, La Nuova Venezia, La Gazzetta di Modena, Corriere delle Alpi, La Provincia Pavese, La Nuova Ferrara, La Gazzetta di Mantova, Il Piccolo, La Sentinella del Canavese, Messaggero Veneto, and Il Tirreno. What new features will readers find on the local newspaper websites? They will be mobile phone-friendly: The structure of the new sites has been created to be adaptable to all screens and is flexible and fast.More space for the community: The connection with readers, which is already greater since the launch of membership, now occupies an important space on the home page. The initiatives for those with membership, the events, newsletters - which have now reached 20 counting all the local papers - and the interactive surveys: all content will have a section devoted to the digital showcase of the newspaper.Special and long-form content: The impact of analyses, dossiers and reports will be enhanced by new long-form presentation layouts that are elegant and will give a boost to the digital analysis and data journalism tradition that is already firmly established in the Gedi Group's local papers. A new container to guide readers through a slower read.More videos and better displayed: Videos will have more space and will be placed higher up than they are at present: bolder colours will help to identify them more easily among the news items of the day.More national news: Thanks to a collaboration with the editorial department of La Stampa, there will be more national content, with a broader coverage in terms of number of articles and of topics: from politics to economics, from foreign news reports to Italian news stories.
