Repubblica delle Idee in Bologna from 7 to 9 June 2019
'There is Another Italy', this is the title of the 2019 Repubblica delle Idee [Republic of Ideas] event, beginning in two weeks, once again in Bologna (7-9 June).
This Italy stands up to politics of fear, surges of racism, and reappearing neo-fascism.
More than eighty events will be held at the Arena del Sole, Palazzo Re Enzo, Cappella Farnese, Piazza Santo Stefano and Piazza Maggiore: it is here, on Saturday evening, the Director of Repubblica, Carlo Verdelli, will explain how and why our newspaper has changed.
Over two hundred speakers will be involved - writers, artists, philosophers and politicians - all engaging with Repubblica journalists, in a programme packed with debate, readings, interviews, concerts, cinema and theatre.
