The company said it saw growth in passenger volumes and revenues in all of its regional bus businesses and kept full-year expectations for the divisions broadly unchanged.

However, yield for the unit was lower as the company ran campaigns targeting younger passengers and said it had plans in place to boost yields and control cost base.

"Our international bus operations in Singapore and Dublin are trading ahead of expectations, and we look forward to operating rail services in Germany from this weekend," Chief Executive David Brown said in a statement.

Go-Ahead said it expected regional unit's operating profit for the second half of fiscal 2019 to be in line with the second half of last year.
