VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Goldcorp Inc. (GG) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $242 million.
On a per-share basis, the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said it had net income of 28 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 10 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 11 cents per share.
The gold mining company posted revenue of $853 million in the period.
Goldcorp shares have risen slightly more than 3 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $13.20, a decline of 21 percent in the last 12 months.
